I am an "honorary member" of the group and an associate professor of philosophy at UoN. I have a background in both physics and philosophy, and a lot of my research focuses on philosophical questions connected to physics. Broadly speaking, my research explores the role and nature of explanation in scientific methodology. I am particularly interested in how we can leverage enhanced explanatory access into improved empirical access; this is most interesting in cases where direct observation is limited or impossible, such as in the study of black holes and the early universe.
