Information for our visitors at NoU
The Quantum Gravity Group is based at the Mathematical Sciences building on University Park Campus. Subject to availability we accommodate our visitors directly at the University Park Campus at the Orchard Hotel. The distance between the Orchards Hotel and Mathematical Sciences is about 10-15 min on foot. The University of Nottingham also offers short term housing (between 1-3 months) for collaboration visits at the adjacent Jubilee Campus at the Amenities Building. Below we give some more detailled information regarding the various points of interests (i.e. directions and maps), travel information (for planning and reimbursment), and finally some more practical advice related to the facilities on campus (i.e. internet and computer facilities).
Directions to get to the University Park Campus
From Nottingham and Beeston: A number of public services run close to or through our campuses. By bus: There are a number of bus services running from Nottingham to University Park Campus. Please see the bus services page for further information. By taxi: There are taxi ranks throughout the city and immediately adjacent to the main railway and bus stations. The journey to the campus takes approximately 15 minutes. By train: The nearest train stations are located in Nottingham City Centre or Beeston. Taxis and buses are available at both stations.
From East Midlands Airport: From East Midlands Airport you can take the Trent Barton Indigo service directly to the campus or the Skylink bus to Nottingham. Buses leave from outside the Airport Arrivals hall. See bus services for further information. You can also walk to the taxi rank on the terminal forecourt and take a direct taxi to the University. The cost of a single/one way journey is approximately £20.
From M1 motorway: Leave the M1 motorway at Junction 25 to join the A52 to Nottingham. Follow the A52 for approximately 4 miles, at the Toby Carvery roundabout turn right onto the A6464, turn left at the next roundabout to enter the University's West Entrance.
From campus to campus: The University provides a free Hopper Bus service which runs from University Park Campus to Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington Campus and King's Meadow Campus.

Group internal usage:
For your visitor you will need to get an associate account set up and it's best to do this at least a week before your visitor's arrival as the account can take a few days to approve and create. You should fill in the application form as follows:
Login as your own University user ID.
Find Blank Forms and click on "Associate Accounts" and follow the on-screen application. (Notice, that you will need to have the name, affiiliation, phone number, email and postal address of the visitor in order to complete the form.)

Our laboratory is based on the University Park campus in the Physcis building in room B08.
